Everything in the area is covered with paper and plastic.Counter tops are usable in as little as 24 hours from completion, but will continue to harden for durability for 72 hours.
Q. How long does the finish last?
A. You can expect to get up to 10 or more years with normal wear.
Q. Can I cut on my resurfaced tops?
A. No type of counter top should be used as a cutting board. It is not a sanitary practice.
Q. How do you recommend that I clean the resurfaced area?
A. The surface is a non-porous and it cleans easily with common household disinfectants. No need for abrasives.
Q. Will it chip?
A. Chips are rare however not impossible if struck with a sharp or heavy object. If this does happen it can be easily repaired.
Q. Can I put hot items on it?
A. A pot holder should be used for very hot items.
Q. Do I have to remove the kitchen sink?
A. It is not necessary however if you plan to replace the sink any time soon it is best to remove it and replace it after the resurface is completed.
Q. How long has this process been around? I have never heard of it.
A. Counter top resurfacing has been around for more than 20 years in drab solid colors mainly used in hotels and apartment complexes. I have spent over 10 years tweaking and perfecting the process of speckling colors together to obtain the stone fleck solid surface look. The results being a more beautiful, durable finish that would appeal to the homeowner as an affordable alternative.
